David's Lessons From A Country Song
Now for a further discussion on making a success
out of your life. Allow me to introduce a lesson
from a country music song that is popular right
now. Rodney Atkins has a song out titled “When
You’re Going Thru Hell” which contains a lesson
about succeeding in life.

The chorus of the song goes:

“If you’re going thru hell, keep on going.
Don’t slow down. if you’re scared don’t
show it. You might get out before the
devil knows you’re there.”

And the alternate chorus goes:

“If you’re going thru hell keep on moving.
Face that fire and walk right thru it.
You might get out before the devil knows
you’re there.”

Now I can hear you say what does this have to do
with success? Ok let’s look at the phrasing of the
words. In the first line of the first and second choruses
what does the song tell you to do?  You are told to keep
moving in both lines. How many times have you seen
someone just stop cold when confronted with a problem?

If you are facing a problem of any sort the worst
thing you can do is stop trying to solve the problem.
When you wait to take action a small problem can
grow to a gigantic one with even more serious
consequences. This can occur in your career or
your personal life when you ignore or fail to take
steps to correct problems.

The second line tells you to face your fear. If you
face any problem that is confronting you then it
will be something you can handle. If you put it
off then a small situation can grow until you will
feel it has reached gigantic proportions. This
will make you feel as if you are powerless to
deal with it.

As the second chorus says you face the fire
and walk right thru it. How powerful will you
feel when you do that? How strong will it make
you to face your fears or problems and work
out a solution?

And that is my message for this week. Remember to
always face your fears and problems. Then after you
have sorted them out, take action to correct or
solve whatever it is you are facing. Remember you
can achieve whatever you desire if you just believe
you can.
